Baked Penne with Bechamel Sauce
- 400 gm penne pasta
- 3 large flower spoons
- 1L of milk
- A large spoon of margarine or butter
- 250 gm of minced meat
- 2 large spoons of grated cheese
How To Make it..
Prepare the Minced meet until browned.
In a pan heat the margarine or butter until melt then add the flower gradually and stir for 2-3 mins and be careful not to get it browned. Add milk gradually with stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Simmer until it is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. This will take approximately 10 minutes. then add the grated cheese.
In a large pot, bring to a boil 6 quarts of salted water. Add the Penne and cook for about 5 minutes. Since you will be cooking the pasta a second time in the oven, you want to make sure the inside is still hard. Drain in a colander.
Into a greased baking dish, spread half of the pasta, then a layer of minced meat and sprinkle some of the bechamel, then spread the rest of the pasta and pour the bechamel and smooth out top then but in the oven for 25 mins or until bubbling and the top is golden brown.
